i will never forget the day Robert told me about his cancer. He was typical Robert, so matter of fact. I wasdevastated and here he was treating it like a project.First we have to get rid of the brain cancer and then we worry about the lungs, oh and then we’ll deal with the rest. I spoke to him often after this conversation and, stubborn as ever he never wavered. Robert Bruce Henderson was a force to behold. I wanted to dosomething special with him and I asked him what he wanted to do. His response was that he wanted me to go to Scotland to meet his parents, adding that i would get on well with his dad. He was right. I will never forget those days and the laughs we had. 
My special surprise for him was a 90 minute flying lesson out of Carlisle airport flying over the places he grew up. I’m so pleased that we made this trip and that we ended up at his home where i was able to spend a little time with Heidi and their two wonderful, funny sons. This trip left me with lasting, fond memories always to be cherished.
